Checking your LIC policy status are very simple and can be done in multiple ways.
The status LIC policy can be checked through various ways such as the traditional way of approaching any of its customer service branch, but then in today’s world people might hardly find it convenient and so there are other quicker ways to do so like through their website www.licindia.in, through SMS or calling up their toll free number 1251. But before you get started you would be required to undergo a one time registration process that is pretty simple and straight forward.
Through LIC Customer account portal
To be able to check the LIC policy status anytime, you need to follow a procedure which involves getting yourself a username and password for your online account with LIC of India. To do so you would have to fill up an online registration form that would include your personal details, communication information like mobile number and address and an working email id for all future correspondence. You can choose the username and password of your choice and submit the info. An automated confirmation is sent to your email and your registration is accepted.
Once registered, you shall be provided with an enrolment form which will ask you for policy details of whichever policies you have and the name of the Proposer/Life Assured. Once done you shall get an option of printing your enrolment from now or later. This form however, needs to be submitted to any nearest customer service LIC branch for your registration to be complete. This is a one time procedure and once done you shall be authenticated as a registered user on the LIC of India website and can login for any future needs on the site. The above procedure though sounds lengthy is actually just a 10 minutes job and just once you have to visit the branch to get yourself authenticated.
After you are a registered user, all you need to do is just login with your username and password and access all your policies and get information regarding the status of your policy along with other details like renewal, premium paid, loan if any, maturity calendar and much more. You can also add new policies online under your username in the future.
Through SMS or IVR
The other options are to send an SMS LICMoney followed by enquiry type to 56677 or ASKLIC followed by other options like premium, revival etc. Customers can also call up their 24/7 helpline number 1251 and get their LIC policy status through IVR after following the steps mentioned during the call and providing the necessary information.
